CHICO, Calif. - Currently, several planes fill the Chico Airport but not the type people can buy a ticket and fly on. However, commercial flights could soon be departing out of the airport.

FREMONT, Calif., Feb. 18, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Water and Waste Digest awarded the highly coveted 2020 Top Project Award to the City of Chico and Ekster and Associates, Inc for implementing an ammonia control project at the Chico wastewater treatment plant. This project was awarded for saving more than 50% of the energy, removing considerably more nutrient pollutants than before, and improving treatment reliability. The cost of wastewater treatment in Chico was reduced by more than $100/million gallons ($200,000/year). This project also reduces greenhouse emissions by the amount equal to annual emissions from more than 170 vehicles.

PARADISE, Calif. - Chico City Council unanimously voted to analyze and study the current and future needs for the Chico Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) to develop a regional sewer connection to Paradise, according to the Town of Paradise.
The connection will be from a specified area in Paradise, called the Sewer Service Area, and will include many parcels along Skyway, Pearson, and Clark Road.
Chico City Council appointed their Mayor and Vice Mayor to a Sewer Regionalization Project Advisory Committee. This includes the Mayor and Vice Mayor of Paradise and will be facilitated by the Regional Water Quality Control board over the course of the planned 18-month Environmental Impact Review (EIR). ....

PARADISE, CALIF. - Assemblyman James Gallagher (R-Yuba City) has introduced a bill to help fast-track two construction projects for the town of Paradise.
The town is working to establish a sewer system for the first time in its history, as part of Camp Fire rebuilding efforts. Before the fire Paradise was the largest unsewered community in California. The town is moving forward with studying a regional pipeline to transport wastewater to the City of Chico Water Pollution Control Plant. ....
