Michael Lang named chief of the Manhattan Beach Fire Department

The City of Manhattan Beach Thursday morning announced the appointment of Michael Lang as its new fire chief.
“I am humbled and honored to be trusted with the responsibility of leading the Manhattan Beach Fire Department,” said Chief Lang. “I am grateful for the support of the City Manager and City Council and their confidence in my ability to maintain the highest standards of excellence and professionalism that the Manhattan Beach Fire Department exemplifies.”
Fire Chief Lang served the City of Arcadia for 21 years, moving his way up through the ranks from a Firefighter/Paramedic, Fire Captain, Battalion Chief and Deputy Fire Chief before his appointment to Fire Chief in 2016. In his time at the City of Arcadia, Chief Lang led a team of 60 personnel overseeing all fire operations including administration, training, fire prevention, emergency response and fire suppression. ....

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA The City of Manhattan Beach has appointed Michael Lang as the city’s next fire chief, according to a press release from the city.

ARCADIA, Calif. - The City of Arcadia put forth a proposal for a tiny home village in the community following concerns over the growing homeless population. On Friday, the proposal sparked various reactions from the city s residents.
If approved, city officials will explore the option of placing the village at the Peck Park utility access road.
The proposed site is in a part of Arcadia that is an industrial area. We tried to find a place that wasn t near or directly adjacent to homes, schools or parks, said Councilmember April Verlato. ....

Gov. Ron DeSantis in Lakeland on Friday morning announced more than $148 million in awards to Florida communities to develop infrastructure projects that will make communities more resilient to future disasters.
The money came from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity’s (DEO) Rebuild Florida Mitigation General Infrastructure Program.
Almost $43 million is going to Lakeland for a project that includes Bonnet Springs Park, a major development in the heart of the city that sits on the site of a former rail yard and brownfield. ....
