Great Falls City Commission approves TIF funds for proposed Newberry Concert Hall

Great Falls City Commissioners moved to approve Downtown Urban Renewal District tax increment financing (TIF) funds for construction surrounding the Newberry Event & Concert Hall on Central Avenue during their Tuesday night meeting.
The commission approved Resolution 10398, which approved $9,100 in TIF funds for the purpose of paying for the construction of temporary sidewalk and reconstruction of a public sidewalk and curb along Central Avenue bordering the subject property at 420 Central Avenue. GREAT FALLS â On Monday morning, the Downtown Safety Alliance distributed the money raised from their seventh year of collections for the Coins For A Cause program.
The Downtown Safety Alliance is comprised of the Great Falls Business Improvement District, NeighborWorks Great Falls, the Great Falls Police Department, the Downtown Great Falls Association, Neighborhood Councils, and the Downtown Development Partnership.
Coins For A Cause was created by The Downtown Safety Alliance in December 2012. Donations collected from containers set up in various downtown businesses are collected annually and given to an organization that provides direct services and resources to people in need, with the goal of reducing pan-handling. ....

GREAT FALLS â After a year of work, the Great Falls Wayfinding Plan is complete and ready to be implemented.
Wayfinding simply means providing directions and information to let people know what the community has to offer and how to get there. The city-wide directional program includes signage for both drivers and pedestrians to more than 40 destinations in town. The 116-page document includes design images for 63 motor signs, 17 pedestrian signs, and up to 10 digital kiosks.
âThe digital kiosks will be a little more high tech. Theyâll be in locations like the Civic Center and probably on the fairgrounds and folks will be able to have some interaction with those digital kiosks,â explained Joan Reeden with the Great Falls Business Improvement District. ....
