2 Florida Deputies Pause Their Wedding Photoshoot to Help Save a Man Hit by a Car Two Florida police officers have been commended by their department for halting their wedding photo shoot to render aid to a victim of a road traffic accident. Detention Deputy Taylor Rafferty and her now-husband, Deputy Chris Rafferty, were taking group photos with their wedding party on Dec. 12, 2020, when a man was hit by a car on the square in Downtown Ocala, Florida. The Raffertys, both law enforcement officers with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), didn’t hesitate to halt proceedings and step in, even though they were off the clock. ....
According to the Marion County Sheriff s Office, the victim alleges he and Gayle were sitting in a vehicle when someone pointed a gun at his head. The victim said the gunman demanded money, and he handed over the cash along with his wallet to the robber. The victim said he was hit in the face several times, and Gayle and the alleged robber, identified as Isaiah Michael Bruno, then drove away in a vehicle. Gayle told detectives that Bruno was the person responsible for the robbery and punching the victim. He also said Bruno was the getaway driver. Bruno, 24, has denied being involved in the holdup. He is charged with robbery with a firearm and his case is pending. ....
