DUI Pennsylvania State Police have charged Roy Matthew Richardson, 28, of Columbia Cross Roads with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving and operating a vehicle without official certificate of inspection following an incident on Aug. 16. According to court records, Richardson was stopped on Fallbrook Road in Armenia Township after police saw that he did not have an inspection sticker in the windshield of his vehicle. Police documents show that during the stop, Richardson told police that he had consumed four alcoholic beverages before driving and showed signs of intoxication including slurred/slow speech, watery eyes and a strong smell of alcohol coming from his person. ....
An open letter to Towanda Borough Residents: The overnight snowstorm on Dec. 17, dumped more than 30 inches of snow on our town. We want the residents to know that Towanda Borough is committed to the health, safety, and welfare of all of our residents and is working tirelessly to recover from this as quickly as possible. Here is a summary of what was done and what we are doing: The Borough started with four plow trucks on Wednesday at 4 p.m. Those four drivers did not stop until Thursday at 2:30 p.m. (after 22 hours). Four fresh drivers continued into Thursday night. On Friday, we continued with four plow trucks, and in addition to the snow, we had to address a watermain break on Lombard Street. ....

Sullivan County had a snowfall ranging from 10.5-16.5 inches while Tioga County, Pennsylvania had a range of 23-44 inches. ....
