To celebrate her first Mother’s Day on May 9, Australian Olympic snowboarder Torah Bright posted a lovely series of photos of her journey through motherhood, including candid shots of herself in labor, fun times at the beach with the fam, and one gorgeous and hilarious photo where she is breastfeeding topless while doing a headstand on the lawn. Son Angus, born last July to the two-time medalist mom and her fellow pro snowboarder husband Angus Thomson, is latched on while crouched naked on the grass.
“Becoming a mother has unleashed something inside of me,” Bright wrote in the caption. “It’s deeply spiritual, it’s primal, it’s raw, it’s fierce, it is pure, I am mother,” she listed, before concluding, “My prayer for all mothers, now and in the future is that they be heard. Honoured. Respected and encouraged to trust their intuition.” ....

Olympic gold medalist (snowboarding) Torah Bright became a mother in July 2020. She s received a lot of flack from photos she s posted, people claiming she s a bad mother and attention seeking .
One photo in particular, of her doing a handstand with her son breastfeeding, has been at the center of such accusations. (To see the photo, scroll to the right below.)
She responded on her story (which only lasts 24 hours), stating:
Reading some of these comments made me sad. In my world, mothers should be each other’s cheer leaders (it s hard enough). Embrace our quirkiness and finding the joy in every s y thing that is motherhood. ....

'Insane': Olympian Torah Bright's Breastfeeding Photo Sparks Backlash

Bright responded to the wave of criticism, saying that the comments “made her sad,” the
New York Post said.
“Reading some of these comments made me sad,” she wrote.
The 34-year-old athlete added, “In my world, mothers should be each other’s cheerleaders (it’s hard enough). Embrace our quirkiness and finding the joy in every sh y thing that is motherhood.
“We all do it differently. It is not wrong or right. Motherhood is pure. I only now consider myself a Wonder Woman because I have joined the sacred MOTHERS club with you. Nothing but respect to all mothers,” she continued. ....

Olympic snowboarding star Torah Bright has spoken out again, calling on mothers to support one another after she received backlash for sharing a nude breastfeeding photo on the weekend.
Bright s incredible acrobatics were well received by many - but not everyone was pleased as the Aussie legend came under fire from online trolls.
Having addressed some of the backlash in an Instagram post earlier this week, the hate has kept coming Bright s way and she felt compelled to address the photo yet again in a video posted to social media on Wednesday.
Despite feeling a bit silly for addressing the matter, Bright said she spoke out after there were a lot of negative comments from other mothers. ....
