In pursuance of Prime Minister Imran Khan s vision of Digital Pakistan, the Ministry of Education and Tech Valley Pakistan signed an MOU on Monday to transform all schools in Islamabad into digital ones.
In the first phase, Cloud based infrastructure will be deployed in two hundred schools of the federal capital. Google will provide tools to the schools for distance learning, in addition to Chromebox.
In the second phase, all the teachers will be provided virtual training to use these tools.
Parliamentary Secretary for Education Wajiha Akram termed the step as a historic milestone. She said it is need of the hour to transform from conventional to digital learning. She said the scope of this project will be expanded to the entire country after the successful implementation of the pilot project in Islamabad. ....

FDE, Google and Tech Valley Sign MoU to Digitize Schools in Islamabad
The Federal Directorate of Education, Google and Tech Valley, on Monday, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to transform all schools in Islamabad into ‘Digital Schools’ to fulfill the government vision of ‘Digital Pakistan.’
In the first phase, Tech Valley will deploy cloud-based infrastructure-based Google Workspace in 200 schools (male and female) in Islamabad, while Google will provide schools with tools for distance learning and Chromebooks. In the second phase, all teachers will be given virtual training on how to use and utilize these tools. The initiative of the Federal Ministry of Education is aimed at ensuring the professional development of teachers and students. ....

ABBOTTABAD: Ayub Medical College (AMC), Abbottabad has joined hands with Tech Valley Pakistan to transform into a digital medical school with the help of Google technologies.
A press release said that over a period of 40 years AMC has grown into one of the largest, established, and reputed medical institutions of the country, which has earned a name through alumni.
The first batch of its medical graduates passed out in 1984 and by the end of academic session 2019, about 6850 doctors had graduated from this institution.
With COVID-19 infecting hundreds of thousands, and numerous colleges mandating their students to stay at home, the situation for medical schools has become even more difficult. ....
