MILWAUKEE, WI – A state-of-the-art advanced technology computed tomography (CT) checkpoint scanner that provides 3D imaging and seven reference authentication technology (CAT) units is installed and used at the Transportation Security Administration checkpoints at the Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE).
“This new CT technology not only provides capabilities for detecting critical explosives, but helps our TSA agents determine if an item in a carry-on is a potential threat,” said Mark Lendvay, Wisconsin director of federal security. in a press release. “Both the new scanners and authentication technology units are also reducing the number of contact points at the checkpoint, benefiting officers and passengers alike during this pandemic.”
