San Francisco, April 1 : Tech giant Microsoft has announced that it has received a contract to outfit the US Army to produce 120,000 augmented reality (AR) headsets based on the company s HoloLens tech.
The US Army, this week, said that it will work with Microsoft on the production phase of the Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) programme as it moves from rapid prototyping to production and rapid fielding.

San Francisco - Microsoft has announced to extend its confidential computing options available to Azure Cloud customers in partnership with chip-maker AMD.
The company said it will be the first major cloud provider to offer confidential virtual machines on the new AMD ‘EPYC 7003 series processors.
With the third-gen AMD EPYC CPU-backed confidential computing virtual machines (VMs), Azure confidential computing now enables customers to encrypt entire VMs confidentially, enable confidentiality without recompiling code, and benefit from a host of Azure-specific enhancements.
Today you can deliver confidential workloads on Azure with the broadest choice of hardware as well as resources spanning virtual machines, containers, SQL, and beyond, the company said in a statement on Monday. ....

New Delhi: Microsoft has unveiled a unique app called Group Transcribe that lets people capture real-time collective meeting transcriptions using their smartphones, including in Hindi.
A product of Microsoft s experimental division Garage, Group Transcribe uses a multi-device approach to provide real-time, high quality transcription and translation, so users can be more present and productive during in-person meetings and conversations.
Group Transcribe allows us to address an authentic, ad-hoc, interactive mobile scenario to help people communicate without language barriers.
