Bhubaneswar, Feb 12 : Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday urged the Centre to withdraw the National Monuments Authority s (NMA) draft heritage bylaws for two temples in the state.
Patnaik said the central government should immediately withdraw the NMA s draft bylaws on Ananta Basudev and Brahmeswar temples of Ekamra Kshetra in Bhubaneswar.
The Chief Minister said it would have been appropriate for the Central agencies to take the state into confidence on sensitive religious issues.

BHUBANESWAR/PURI: The Centre on Monday announced the withdrawal of the draft heritage bylaws for Sri Jagannath temple at Puri. The bylaws notified by the National Monument Authority (NMA), proposing restrictions on constructions and developmental works along the temple periphery had triggered a Statewide outrage.
