XLRI to hold 65th Annual Convocation

Jamshedpur: XLRI- Xavier School of Management, one of India’s premier B-School, is all set to hold its 65th Annual Convocation on 24 April 2021. The virtual Convocation ceremony will be held to bid a final farewell to the 2019-21 batch.
On this significant day, 509 XLRI students will receive their graduating diploma including – 178 & 181 students of Postgraduate Programmes in Management – BM, and HRM; 101 students of 15-months PGDM (General Management) Programme; 06 students of Fellow Program in Management (FPM) and 43 students of the 2018–2021 batch of PGDM-BM Programme (Evening).
Speaking about this momentous occasion, Fr. 38% faculty posts lying vacant at India's premier institutions | India News

According to the HRD ministry, of the 39,822 sanctioned posts across IITs, NITs, IIMs, IISERs, IIITs, central universities and other institutes funded by the Centre, 14,372 (or 36.1%) are vacant. (Representative photo: PTI)
BENGALURU: As another academic year is set to start, premier institutions in India IITs, NITs, IIMs and IISERs are staring at a collective faculty shortage of 38%, with cumulative vacancies as high as at 74% at the IIMs. It is 38.4% and 36.5% among IITs and NITs, respectively.

Responses To New IT Rules for Social Media, OTT and Digital News Platforms

On February 25, the government published its new rules under the Information Technology Act, 2009 bringing guidelines for internet intermediaries and digital media organisations. According to the government the basic essence of the Rules is to introduce a “soft touch oversight mechanism”, as it insists that platforms develop their own mechanisms to monitor and take down content, while building robust grievance redressal systems.
The IT Rules, 2021 focus on, and impact, three separate sectors:
All online Intermediaries and platforms, with a special emphasis on social media companies
Online streaming services
Digital news companies
For social media companies, the new rules require platforms to allow identification of the originator of messages, which threatens the integrity of end-to-end encryption-based communication and privacy of individual users.
