Share The Ogun State Police Command has said that the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Dare Kadiri, is culpable of the allegation of invasion into the residences of some people levelled against him. The deputy speaker was on Friday arrested for questioning by the Police and later detained over the allegation at the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta. Tribune Online recalled that Kadiri had alleged the Secretary to the State Government , Mr Tokunbo Talabi, of masterminding his arrest. However, the Police in a statement issued by the Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the lawmaker was arrested based on petition written against his person. ....
Source tell Naija247news that Kadiri was detained on Friday morning for gross misconduct. It was learnt that the deputy speaker had been struggling with some powerbrokers in the state chapter of his party, All Progressives Congress (APC), and even sued the state House of Assembly on some undisclosed issues. A source in Eleweran who refused to give details of his charges revealed that the lawmaker might be unable to successfully handle the allegations, which were described as capable of destroying his political career. The source said, “The Deputy Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly has been arrested and detained here. He was arrested for gross misconduct which I cannot tell you. I hope he gets over it soon but the case is very tough,” he said. ....
TODAY January 20, 2021 Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State have protested the alleged refusal of the state executive committee to confirm and inaugurate their caretaker committee after nomination. The members, under the aegis of Dapo Abiodun Youth Forum (DAYF), are accusing two former deputy governors of the state, Segun Adesegun and Senator Gbenga Kaka, of allegedly causing disunity and crisis in the party. The protesters stormed the APC state secretariat in Abeokuta with placards bearing inscriptions such as: “Release our caretaker exco in Ijebu North”, “Inaugurate Tunde Adebajo as party chairman, Ijebu North”, “Obey the party guideline” and “The leaders’ decision should be followed in Ijebu North”. ....
