KINNESHA GEORGE-HARRY Progressive Democratic Patriots (PDP) deputy political leader Farley Augustine has hit back at PNM candidate Kwesi DesVignes for claiming his living arrangements disqualify him from being a chief secretary. Augustine recently revealed he still lives in his father s home, as he was denied a loan by a bank despite being an assemblyman and a former teacher. He said young professionals across the country are experiencing similar problems, which he planned to rectify. But Des Vignes – PNM candidate for Providence/Mason Hall/Moriah – questioned Augustine s ability to manage Tobago s affairs. He was speaking at a meeting on Wednesday in Milford Court Park, Bon Accord. ....

During a Progressive Democratic Patriots (PDP) political meeting, last week Sunday in Scarborough, the party’s deputy political leader Farley Augustine produced a copy of a management letter from the Auditor General s Department to the THA for the period ended September 2016. The letter, he said, highlighted financial discrepancies in several aspects of the THA’s operations, including its planned purchase of a zipline for the Main Ridge Forest Reserve. ....

Lovell s property is being acquired by the State for the ANR Robinson International Airport expansion project. - A premature eviction notice has left one Crown Point resident unable to sleep and suffering chest pains. Although the letter was retracted a day later, Wolwin Lovell, 58, told Newsday the trauma of being told by the State to vacate his property within seven days, or face legal action, lingers. Lovell was among a group of nine residents who were served eviction letters from the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries, Land Management Division through the Commissioner of State Lands on Thursday. The residents properties are being acquired by the State as part of the ANR Robinson International Airport expansion project. ....
