The pandemic and social justice protests for Black lives and to stop Asian hate have introduced a new sense of urgency in reckoning with Boston’s racist past and confronting the lingering effects.
As Tuesday’s deadline to take out papers for city office came and went, the field of candidates for the next mayor of Boston emerged as a historic one: For the first time, all of the major candidates identify as people of color.
It is a significant and transformational milestone in a city with a notorious history of white political power, although most of its residents are Black, Latino, Asians, or other people of color. Background
This is an extra-budgetary position. The initial contract will be for one year, renewable until the project ends. The expected duration of the project is until 2023 and the selected candidate should commit to being available for the duration of the project.
The OSCE has a comprehensive approach to security that encompasses politico-military, economic and environmental, and human aspects. It therefore addresses a wide range of security-related concerns, including arms control, confidence- and security-building measures, human rights, combating human trafficking, national minorities, democratization, policing strategies, counter-terrorism and economic and environmental activities. All 57 participating States enjoy equal status, and decisions are taken by consensus on a politically, but not legally binding basis. ....

Nevada Democrats last August embraced the motto: “Never let a serious crisis go to waste” by enacting Assembly Bill 4, requiring official ballots be mailed to all registered voters in the state before the November election. Their stated reason: the coronavirus pandemic .
In reality, coronavirus gave Democrats a pretext to change Nevada election law in a manner not previously achievable.
AB 4 was the subject of a hastily called 32nd Special Session of the Nevada Legislature last July 30. A 100-page bill, AB 4, was introduced and swiftly passed the Assembly the following day and the Senate two days later on straight party-line votes. ....

Nearly 82 per cent of 10.04 lakh voters exercised their franchise in the Union Territory on April 6
Counting of votes polled in the April 6 Assembly elections in Puducherry began at 8 am on Sunday.
There are 30 Assembly constituencies spread over Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam regions.
Counting began amid tight security and in strict adherence to the Covid protocols.
A spokesman of the Election Department here told PTI that postal ballots were taken up first for counting.
This would be followed by counting of votes recorded in electronic voting machines (EVMs) at 8.30 am, the spokesman said. ....
