Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress has likened the actions of Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, the Tema West Member of Parliament during the election of the Speaker of Parliament to a thief stealing an item at the popular Kejetia Market in Kumasi.
Asiedu Nketia did not mince words in referring to Carlos Ahenkorah as a thief who deserved the treatment he got from some MPs.
Videos of the incident show some MPs including the NDC Chief Whip Muntaka Mohammed assaulting Carlos Ahenkorah.
Asiedu Nketia told Accra FM that the MPs who accosted Carlos Ahenkorah deserve special praise for helping apprehend a ‘thief’. ....

MPs scuffle embarrassing; Parliament must condemn itself – OB Amoah

Member of Parliament for the Akwapim South constituency, OB Amoah says he will support an objective inquiry that will be commenced into the chaotic incidents that characterized the inauguration of the 8th Parliament on the 6th and 7th January 2021.
He said it is important for Parliament and its legislators to openly condemn the incidents to assure members of the public that Parliament as an institution as well as its members do not support violence, neither do they condone taking the law into one’s own hands.

The Tema West Member of Parliament on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Carlos Ahenkorah has debunked the allegation of some people of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) that he acted on the instruction of his leader in Parliament to snatch the ballot papers.
According to the former Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, nobody should blame Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu for the decision he [Ahenkorah] made to snatch the ballot papers during the counting of the ballot papers to elect the next Speaker for the 8th Parliament.
Setting the record straight on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Hon. Carlos Ahenkorah explained that he only went to his leader, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu to do something to stop the counting of the ballot papers before it is too late for the ruling party. ....
