WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCSC) - Police officers have arrested a man wanted for a series of vehicle break-ins and thefts at West Ashley neighborhoods.
The Charleston Police Department arrested 27-year-old Dequenci Deshun Parker of North Charleston.
According to investigators, the rash of forced entry break-ins happened on April 27 through May 7 along the Ashley River Road and Bees Ferry corridor.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston Police Department is trying to identify a person accused of multiple vehicle break-ins and Crime Stoppers says theyâre willing to pay.
CPD says the culprit has been accused of breaking-in to cars in West Ashley neighborhoods along Ashley River Road and Bees Ferry Road.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The last five years have brought a lot of growth to the west side of West Ashley, and a proposed apartment complex could bring hundreds more people to the area.
Plans show the complex would be built in West Ashley near Glenn McConnell Parkway and Bees Ferry Road. This is an area that could soon see more growth as developers seek a part of Charleston that can be further developed.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Charlestonâs Technical Review Committee is expected to vote on final approval Thursday morning for a new subdivision in the West Ashley area.
The developer, Bear Island, LLC, plans 57 new townhomes to be built as an addition to a larger project called Rhodes Crossing.
The new homes would be built in what is currently a wooded area along Sanders Road about a half-mile away from the Walmart in West Ashley.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston Police Department has a new $12.4 million facility in West Ashley dedicated to forensic services.
The groundbreaking for the new building took place in October of 2019. Its completion means those different locations are all under one roof on Bees Ferry Road.
Forensic Service Director Judy Gordon says this new building along with their new technology and resources will help them solve crimes faster.
“Even after a few weeks it’s made a big difference in our efficiency and our effectiveness by consolidating everybody into one facility,” Gordon said. “It provides us with additional space, resources, technology, in order to get results out faster.”
