Destination DC and Tourism Partners Preview Recovery Advertising Campaign and Other Recovery Initiatives


DC’s 2021 domestic visitation anticipated to rise approximately 50 percent over 2020
Washington, DC – Destination DC (DDC) and city partners today announced efforts to attract visitors back to Washington, DC during its annual Travel Rally, held at Audi Field home of D.C. United, for a virtual audience.  DDC previewed elements of a $2.5 million recovery advertising campaign launching later this spring in partnership with Events DC. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser joined DDC president and CEO Elliott L. Ferguson, II and industry leaders to discuss plans to jumpstart future travel to the city.

Statewide Mask Mandate Goes Away Friday, April 16

CONCORD – New Hampshire will end its statewide mask mandate on Friday.
Gov. Chris Sununu said he feels comfortable letting the temporary “thou shalt must” mandate expire on April 15 given the fact that 70 percent of residents have signed up to get a vaccine, the daily death toll has come down dramatically and hospitals have the capacity to handle more patients with adequate staffing and supplies compared to November when he imposed the executive order.
He said on May 7, the state will move away from its individual business and industry guidance to universal best practices which will be in place to help slow the spread of the virus. ....

Data: No-Knock Warrants Target Black Cincinnatians, But Decrease Throughout City


Local Data Shows Racial Disparities
WVXU collected 15 years of data on no-knock warrants in the city, and it s clear they re mostly issued in historically Black neighborhoods and Black people are most often the target. Police released data from all no-knocks they participated in, whether it applied for the warrant or assisted other agencies.
