Trussville PD participating in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

TRUSSVILLE The Trussville Police Department is hosting a prescription drug take back day in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Drug Enforcement Agency’s 20th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
The program is sponsored by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to combat the abuse or misuse of potentially dangerous medicines that have expired or are no longer needed for those whom these controlled substances were prescribed.
Members of the public may bring their outdated prescription drugs and vape dispensers, as long as the batteries have been removed, and vape cartridges. ....

If you have unwanted or expired meds in the medicine cabinet, get rid of them. Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take-Back day, a day where you can get rid of unwanted prescriptions or over the counter medicines anonymously, and with no questions asked.
Major Jeff Connor of the Madison County Sheriff’s Department tells the Big Z getting prescription drugs out of the house and off the street is the goal.

The drop off times for Saturday are 10am to 2pm at the parking lot on 2nd Street behind the County Administration Building in downtown Edwardsville. Several local departments including Alton, East Alton, Bethalto, Edwardsville, Granite City, and Roxana have drop boxes available anytime. ....

The Saco Police Department at 20 Storer St. and Saco Community Center at 75 Franklin St., the Biddeford Public Works Department at 371 Hill St. and the Old Orchard Beach Police Department 16E Emerson Cummings Blvd. are among a number of Maine locations that are participating in National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“Unused prescription drugs that collect in our homes can fall into the wrong hands, creating unintended gateways to opioid addiction. Los Alamos Police Hold DEA Drug Take Back Day Saturday
LAPD News:
Saturday, April 24, the Los Alamos Police Department will be conducting its biannual DEA Drug Take Back Day.
This will be held in the South parking lot (Trinity Drive Justice Center Lot) of the Los Alamos Police Department.
This event will begin at 10 a.m., and run until 2 p.m. Due to COVID-19, additional precautions have been put in place to ensure the safety of all individuals who partake. The Los Alamos Police Department asks the public to follow the guidelines to ensure a safe process for everyone.
The DEA Drug Takeback event will have one entry way into the parking lot. There will be cones to guide those that come into the parking lot as well as officers to assist drivers to drive by a drop off box. LAPD wants to encourage people to remain in their vehicles, as people will not be allowed to park and walk up to the box. ....
