President issues three directives on handling of SJ-182 crash 12th January 2021
Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi. Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, on Tuesday outlined three instructions from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on the handling of the Sriwijaya Air flight SJ-182 crash. During the meeting, President Joko Widodo gave instructions on the following accelerated steps, Sumadi said at a press conference here on Wednesday.
President Widodo has ordered that rescuers find the black box, retrieve the victims bodies, and the wreckage from the plane as quickly as possible. The FDR (Flight Data Recorder) has been found, the minister confirmed.

Indonesian Air Force sends two choppers for Sriwijaya search mission 11th January 2021

(ANTARA/Syaiful Hakim) Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Air Force has dispatched two choppers to assist the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) in its efforts to haul the body parts and debris of the crashed Sriwijaya Air flight SJ-182.
The two choppers, an NAS 332 Super Puma and an Eurocopter EC725 Caracal, based at the Atang Sanjaya airbase in Bogor, West Java, conducted an airborne search and rescue operation inside the areas of Sector 1 and 2, determined by the Basarnas, for about two hours on Monday.

Jakarta, Indonesia:
Indonesian authorities on Sunday located the black boxes of the Sriwijaya Air jet that crashed into the sea soon after taking off from the capital Jakarta, as human body parts and suspected pieces of the plane were retrieved.
The Boeing 737-500 with 62 passengers and crew was headed to Pontianak in West Kalimantan on Saturday before it disappeared from radar screens four minutes after takeoff.
It is the first major aircrash in Indonesia since 189 passengers and crew were killed in 2018 when a Lion Air Boeing 737 Max in 2018 also plunged into the Java Sea soon after takeoff from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
