Israel Shipyards is set to supply three fast-attack interdictor craft missile (FAIC-M) boats to the Philippine Navy in 2022.

Philippine Navy (PN) chief vice admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo has confirmed that the service will receive three fast-attack interdictor craft missile (FAIC-M) boats next year.
The three boats are the first of eight FAIC-Ms being built by Israel Shipyards.
The Philippines News agency (PNA) reported that the deal is said to be worth around $503m (PHP10bn). ....

The Philippines plans to convert a South China Sea island into a military hub amid rising tensions with China.
The Philippine military will ask President Rodrigo Duterte to fund a logistics hub on Thitu Island, its chief General Cirilito Sobejana said, as the nation seeks to sustain patrols in the South China Sea. It’s also planning to place high-resolution, night-capable cameras to monitor activities around islands claimed by the Philippines, he said. ....

Foreign Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jnr dispensed with diplomatic niceties as he took to Twitter on Monday, calling China an ugly oaf and demanding it get the f out of Philippine maritime waters.
His colourful language followed reports that Chinese coastguard ships had harassed their Philippine counterparts in the vicinity of the shoal, which is claimed by both countries. ....

QUEZON CITY, Apr. 25 Service members from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and United States Armed Forces concluded the 36th iteration of Balikatan Exercise on Friday, April 23 with a small ceremony held at the General Headquarters at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.
“The successful conduct of this year’s Balikatan Exercise 36-2021 has definitely brought us a step closer towards our goal of capacitating our forces, and as such, will consequently contribute to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific Region,” said AFP Chief of Staff General Cirilito Sobejana. ....
