Daily Times July 2, 2021 Most parts of Lahore and its adjoining districts continue to face electricity load shedding for hours besides forced outages and tripping. Facing high demand of electricity amid hot weather, the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has resorted to carrying out load shedding even more than what the utility had announced a few days back. The LESCO had announced up to seven hours of load shedding in the latest load management programme issued for the period from Jun 25 to July 05, 2021. The situation is worse in rural areas where the consumers are facing 16 to 18 hours of load shedding, in addition to forced shutdowns being observed by LESCO in peak hours owing to overloading of the system. “Load shedding, tripping and power fluctuation have become a nuisance as these are not only affecting our routine activities but damaging the home appliances as well,” said a consumer. “We want the government to take notice of the situation,” ....

Lahore faces load shedding crisis after low power generation June 30, 2021 LAHORE: Power supply got a hit in the provincial metropolis on Tuesday following low electricity generation due to squeezed natural gas supplies and other constraints. Facing high demand of electricity amid hot weather, Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) resorted to carrying out load shedding even more than what the power utility had announced a few days back. Lesco announced up to seven hours of load shedding in the latest load management programme issued for the period from Jun 25 to July 05, 2021. June 28, 2021 LAHORE: The opposition members in the National Assembly visited National Power Control Centre (NPCC) on Sunday. According to a spokesman for the National Transmission and Dispatch Company, a group of Members of National Assembly comprising former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Marriyum Aurangzeb and Rana Sanaullah visited the NTDC National Power Control Centre in Islamabad. Joint Secretary Transmission, Power Division Ahmed Taimoor Nasir, Managing Director NTDC Engr Muhammad Ayub and officers from NPCC briefed the MNAs about current power situation, system operations of NPCC and responded to questions asked by the MNAs.
