Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, NDC Director of Elections
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has held an emergency press conference at its headquarters to raise concerns about what it says is an unprecedented delay in the arrival of certified election results from the Regional Collation Centres to the National Collation Centre.
The National Collation Centre is where final certified election results from the regional collation centres are declared officially by the Returning Officers.
Speaking at the press conference on December 8, 2020, NDC’s Director of Elections, Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, said as of 9 a.m. not a single result arrived at the Electoral Commission’s strong room, even though the commission has said it will declare final election results by 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
Tensions are high ahead of the final judgement of the apex court today, in the case sent to it by the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama.
Mr Mahama is claiming that none of the 12 candidates obtained the over 50% votes imposed by the constitution, as such, the court should order for a re-run between the first two candidates.
After several ‘I put it to you,’ ‘My Lords,’ ‘I am opposed to…’ among others, all parties in the second presidential election petition in the country, would see their smoothness level in a few hours’ time today, Thursday, March 4, 2021.

FEB 25, 2021
The Ghana Association of Persons with Albinism (GAPA), has distanced itself from a statement of an albinism association, Association of African Albinos (AAA), expelling Lawyer Moses Foh-Amoaning from its fold.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, the association said, GAPA is not a member of, and has no affiliation with AAA. GAPA belongs to an umbrella continental Albinism Association called AFRICA UNION OF PERSONS WITH ALBINISM (AUPA), of which it is a founding member,
The press statement was in reaction to a letter purported to be from an organization calling itself Association of African Albinos (AAA), expelling Mr Moses Foh-Amoaning, who is a person with albinism, from the association for his stance against the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community in Ghana.
