Friday update: 100 new COVID-19 cases reported in York County

There were 100 additional COVID-19 cases reported in York County on Friday, bringing the total to 45,968 since the outbreak began, according to the state Health Department.
There were no new deaths reported, leaving the death toll at 806. There have been 155,319 patients in the county who have tested negative for COVID-19, about 3.4% of the total 4,548,782 negative patients in the state.
Statewide, the case total hit 1,193,355, an increase of 1,823 cases. There were also 25 new deaths. The death toll now stands at 26,990.
Monday update: 199 new COVID-19 cases since Saturday in York County

There were 199 additional COVID-19 cases reported in York County since Saturday, bringing the total to 44,485 since the outbreak began, according to the state Health Department.
Of those cases, 112 were reported on Sunday and 87 were reported on Monday. There were no additional deaths reported, leaving the death toll at 783.
Statewide, the case total hit 1,158,486, an increase of 4,381 cases over the two-day period. About 89% of patients have recovered. There were also 23 deaths. The death toll now stands at 26,276.
There have been 4,413,028 patients in the state who have tested negative for COVID-19, 150,049 of whom reside in York County.
As demand wanes, WellSpan Health offers walk-in COVID-19 vaccinations

WellSpan is now accepting walk-ins for COVID-19 vaccinations, and a spokesperson says it is because there has been a decrease in the number of people seeking shots.
As of Friday, anyone 16 years and older can get vaccinated the same day from noon to 3 p.m. on selected days and at selected locations, according to a WellSpan Health news release.
WellSpan started seeing a decline in demand about two weeks ago, which could be attributed to existing barriers such as scheduling conflicts or vaccine hesitancy, spokesperson Ryan Coyle said. We re seeing the same decline in requests for appointments that health systems are seeing around Pennsylvania and around the country, Coyle said. We believe there s a great number of people that are hesitant.
