Freedom fighter status of 52, including Bangabandhu’s killer, cancelled UNB, Dhaka UNB, Dhaka The government has cancelled the freedom fighter certificates of 52 people including Mosleh Uddin Khan one of the killers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The Liberation War affairs ministry issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday following the recommendation of the 70th meeting of the National Freedom Fighters Council. The ministry s decision came as per the National Freedom Fighters Council Act 2002, more than seven months after the publication of the new list of freedom fighters. As per the notification, Mosleh Uddin Khan, one of the killers of Bangabandhu is among the 52 people who were stripped of titles.

Four of them were recipients of the freedom fighter gallantry awards, which the High Court in a ruling on Dec 15, had also suspended.

The Minister also said that within the next December 16, they will finalise the list of members of the ‘Razakars’, ‘Al-Badr’, ‘Al-Shams’, the auxiliary forces of Pakistan Army then.
