DOH-10 holds online road safety month celebration Philippine Information Agency 30 May 2021, 22:38 GMT+10 MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL, May 30 (PIA) To raise awareness and improve road safety, the Department of Health (DOH)-10 conducted the online road safety month celebration with various government agencies and private sectors via webinar with the theme, Second Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030 Managing Speed. DOH-10 put active transport in the spotlight in celebration of the road and safety month, and pushed for a safer road system for bikers, cyclists, pedestrians and commuters. The sustainable development goals set an ambitious target to reduce road traffic deaths and injuries by 50 percent. The Philippine National Objectives for Health 2017-2022 targets the reduction of road traffic deaths to 7.9 per 100,000 population and the PRSAP 2017-2022 interim target is to reduce road death rate by at least 20 percent by 2022.

Share Jammu : Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha today attended the closing ceremony of 32nd National Road Safety Month and Fitness Mela here at Gulshan Ground. During his visit, the Lt Governor launched 07 Online Services and e-inaugurated 19 ‘Learner’s License Test Centres’ for students at Polytechnics/ITIs across J&K. Buses procured under J&K Transport Subsidy Scheme were also flagged off by the Lt Governor. During his address, the Lt Governor underlined the significance of spreading awareness on road safety and following traffic rules. The transition from Road Safety Week to Road Safety Month shows that increasing road accidents is a critical issue. The Government is making continuous efforts to make the public aware and this Road Safety Month was also one such effort, the Lt Governor said.

Valediction of 32nd National Road Safety Month-2021 held across Kashmir

  Srinagar: Series of activities to raise awareness among the masses with respect to road safety marked the culmination of National Road Safety Month-2021 themed ‘Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha’ across all the districts of Kashmir. On the occasion, Valediction function was held at Srinagar and at all the districts to observe the conclusion of the month long awareness drive that was kick started on 18 January, 2021. During this period, a number of activities including debates, quiz, essay and painting competitions, distribution of pamphlets and print material, blood donation camp, fitness mela, walkathon, rallies to raise mass awareness among the drivers and the public about road safety norms besides health check up camps were conducted by the Regional Transport Authority, Kashmir and Astt. Regional Transport Offices of all the districts.
