Bryan Alas Hernandez, 19, was sentenced Wednesday in Lethbridge provincial court to two years in a federal penitentiary, following his guilty plea in January to one count of distributing child pornography.
The 19-year-old was arrested and charged with several child pornography offences after investigators found on three electronic devices videos and photos of children ranging from toddlers to teens in various stages of undress and engaged in sexual acts with other children, adults and animals. ....

A Lethbridge man caught with hundreds of photos of child pornography and nearly a dozen videos, has been sent to a federal penitentiary.
Brandon Gerardo Bran Eguizabal, 27, who pleaded guilty in February to one count of possession of child pornography, was sentenced Wednesday in Lethbridge provincial court to two years in prison.
Crown Prosecutor Michelle Tai told court Lethbridge police searched a northside home at which Eguizabal was living on June 4, 2020, and he admitted possessing and receiving child pornography from other online users through chats and text messaging. Police seized eight electronic devices and found child pornography on three of them. ....

Brandan Akers-Wright, 24, was convicted of having contraband tobacco and marijuana inside Joyceville Institution beyond the visitors area in late December 2019 a violation of the Corrections and Conditional Release Act. He had 60 days added to his existing sentence. Justice Alison Wheeler was told that the behaviour of Akers-Wright and his then girlfriend drew the attention of correctional staff at the prison during a visit a couple of days before Christmas 2019.
