App State Women's Basketall Stumbles Against Troy

App State women’s basketball fell to Troy in the weekend finale, 74-52, on Saturday afternoon at the Holmes Center. App State is now 8-8 and 5-5 in league play and Troy improved to 11-4 and 7-1 in conference action. Janay Sanders (Charlotte, N.C./Mallard Creek) scored a game and season-high 15 points while going a 9-of-9 from the free-throw line and grabbed a season-high four rebounds. Lainey Gosnell (Demorest, Ga./Habersham Central) was the other Mountaineer in double figures with 13 points and pulled down six rebounds. Maya Calder (Landover, Md./National Christian Academy) led the team with a season-best seven off the glass.
