Loweth has taken responsibility as President of Seneca Resources Company, LLC (Seneca Resources), the Exploration and Production segment of the Company.
Loweth began his career with Seneca Resources as the Director of Strategic Planning and Acquisitions in 2011. He was named Vice President of Finance and Acquisitions a year later and held that position for nearly three years. In 2015, Loweth assumed additional responsibilities, including Oil and Gas Marketing, Accounting, Information Technology, Reservoir Engineering, Corporate Reserves, and Business and Corporate Development. In 2017, he was appointed as Senior Vice President. ....

Erie County broadband program gets federal assistance for fiber optic network


Erie County’s long planned broadband internet program is starting to make some important headway. 
It was announced that nearly $180 million in federal infrastructure dollars will be coming to the county to help pay for the installation of the 360 mile fiber optic network known as ErieNet. 
Congressman Brian Higgins, who helped secure the funding, said having access to quality internet has become more far reaching since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
“It s all about economic independence and self sufficiency. And that s what we really want to promote, and give everybody an opportunity to access high speed internet,” Higgins said. “There s a healthcare component to it, there s an education component to it, there s a transportation component to it. There s just generally an economic and life quality component to it.” ....

What's next for new Alstom rail car facility?


Start with moving a whole lot of earth, both above the ground and below. 
The City of Hornell Industrial Development Agency this week continued to set the foundation for a new 135,000 square foot rail car manufacturing facility on Shawmut Drive, applying for a $4.5 million grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) to offset some costs associated with the project. 
The IDA previously secured a $689,000 loan from the Regional Economic Development and Energy Corporation (REDEC) to make the land in the Shawmut Industrial Park “site ready” for development. The IDA took on the project anticipating Alstom would be awarded a contract by Metra to supply a new fleet of rail cars for the Chicago metropolitan area. That foresight was rewarded earlier this year when Alstom won the contract and moved forward with plans for a new car shell manufacturing facility based in Hornell.  ....
