(Article by Joe Nino republished from BigLeaguePolitics.com)

House Bill 1927 was introduced by Texas State Representative Matt Schaefer. The bill would scrap the requirement for Texas residents to acquire a license to carry handguns provided that they’re not prohibited by state or federal law from owning a firearm.
Under Texas’ current law, Texans must possess licenses to carry handguns, whether concealed or open.
“This bill should be called common-sense carry,” Schaefer declared as he argued in favor of the bill on April 15. ....

Julian Edelman Announces Retirement After 12-Year Patriots Career
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman announced his retirement Monday afternoon, ending his 12-year career.
The three-time Super Bowl champion took to Twitter to post a heartfelt message to Patriots Nation which he captioned Foxborough Forever. The video can be seen above.
Edelman was drafted by the Pats 232nd overall in the 7th round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Kent State where he played quarterback during his 4-year collegiate career.
Edelman played 11 games as a rookie and caught 37 passes, but featured prominently on special teams early in his career as a dangerous punt returner - retiring tied for 17th all-time with 11.2 yards-per-return - before establishing himself as one of Tom Brady s favorite targets. ....

It sounds easy in theory: Just trade up to grab one of the top-tier quarterbacks in Round 1, whether it’s Justin Fields, Trey Lance or Mac Jones. Boom, the New England Patriots are set at quarterback for the next decade.
