In tandem with one of its mandate to prevent corruption, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Southern Regional Office has, on the 22
nd January 2021, engaged newly recruited school inspectors in Bo District on ways to uphold integrity in the execution of their duties. The engagement took place at the office of the Teaching Service Commission, Gbaiima Road, in Bo.
Addressing the school inspectors, ACC’s Regional Manager, Musa Jawara, said the meeting was an opportunity to educate them on corruption issues and partner in the fight against the scourge. ....

Conservation group has successful 2020 in Roan Mountain and throughout the Southern Appalachians


Group’s work to bring 2,600 mountainous acres under protection
ELIZABETHTON — The year 2020 has been a very bad year for many business activities. The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has made it difficult to conduct meetings and close deals.
Despite these problems, it has proven to be an unusually productive year for the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy, closing on the protection of more than 2,600 acres across the mountains of Western North Carolina and East Tennessee. Angela Shepherd, the conservancy’s communications director, said several of those projects had been in the works for many years.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A Florida couple has been indicted on accusations that they cheated the state’s educator testing, certification, and licensing process.
U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Florida Lawrence Keefe, joined by representatives from the law enforcement agencies who conducted the investigation leading to this indictment, the indictment is for more than 100 counts against Kathleen and Jeremy Jasper.
The Jaspers are accused of accessing the questions and answers to Florida s teacher certification exam and sold those answers to others through their Estero, Fla. company NavaEd. ....
