Woman charged with hitting child at Columbia school bus stop

Prosecutors have charged a woman with failing to stop for a school bus and injuring a child after she allegedly hit a boy at a southeast Columbia bus stop.
Boone County deputies arrested Nancy P. Metz, 19, of Columbia on Wednesday after a 10-year-old New Haven Elementary student was hit at a bus stop in the 4000 block of South Ponderosa Street. The boy had minor injuries, authorities said.
The school bus was stopped to pick up students when a black Lexus hit the 10-year-old crossing the street, the Boone County Sheriff s Office said Wednesday. ....

UPDATE: Columbia woman arrested for hitting 10-year-old CPS student getting on school bus


COLUMBIA - Boone County Sheriff s deputies arrested a 19-year-old Columbia woman for failing to stop for a school bus receiving/discharging students, resulting in the injury of a child. 
Nancy Patricia Metz hit a 10-year-old student around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning while the student was boarding a CPS school bus.
Captain Brian Leer of the Boone County Sheriff s Office said the bus was traveling northbound and stopped on the road when the incident happened.
A portion of the car hit the child, but did not run the student over.
The incident happened near the 4000 block of South Ponderosa Street. According to an emailed statement from the Boone County Sheriff s Office, the child who got hit fell to the ground, got up and limped to the bus for help.  ....

Nevada County police blotter: Caller reports suspicious 'window licker'

7:01 a.m. A caller from the 800 block of Sutton Way reported almost hitting a drunken man with his vehicle. A member of the HOME team indicated it would take the man for assistance.
12:57 p.m. A caller from a business in the 500 block of Brunswick Road reported ongoing issues with transients breaking into storage facilities, causing damage and defecating. Extra patrols were requested.
2:58 p.m. A caller from the 100 block of East McKnight Way reported he left a phone in the bathroom, and it was gone, possibly stolen, when he returned.
3:06 p.m. A woman on Sutton Way near Brunswick Road reported she was at a support-the-police rally and another woman grabbed her neck. She did not need medical attention and did not want to pursue criminal charges. ....
