There will be several job fairs this weekend across Central Virginia, with hopes of filling a variety of different positions in New Kent County, Henrico County and the City of Richmond.
A little more than 51% of adults in the City of Richmond have gotten at least one COVID-19 shot, according to Richmond Health District officials. Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney said the city has set a goal of reaching the 70% by July, which means there is still a long way to go.
Local health officials are changing where vaccination clinics are set up in effort to reach residents who have yet to get the shot. It’s an effort launched to meet President Biden’s goal of getting 70% of the population vaccinated by July 4th.

Kevin Vonck was on the City of Richmond’s payroll just five months when he was put in charge of its department of planning and development review.
The assignment followed the abrupt departure in January of previous director Mark Olinger, who had led the department for nearly a decade.
Today, Vonck has nearly five months under his belt in his role as acting director, overseeing a department of more than 100 employees that includes the city’s building inspections and permitting bureau, land use and zoning administration, and property maintenance and preservation divisions.
