Track Tec Racing has announced the signing of Lochie Fitzgerald-Symes for the upcoming TCR New Zealand series event at Highlands Motorsport Park.
Fitzgerald-Symes will line up alongside previously announced pairing Greg Murphy and Chris van der Drift in the team’s third Audi RS 3 LMS, and brings with him a wealth of experience in TCR machinery – including racing the same car in the South Island Endurance Series last year.
“Track Tec are awesome to work with and super professional but still allow me to be me,” he said. “I like to fly under the radar and just do my thing on the track, their knowledge and technical skill has definitely improved my racecraft. I can’t wait to finally set up the car into sprint mode and not have to hold back. ....

The Heart of Racing (THoR), an automotive racing programme that raises money for Starship Children’s Hospital, has just become sailing team Emirates Team New Zealand’s newest sponsor.
“We’re delighted to be supporting Emirates Team New Zealand in their defence of the America’s Cup,” said THoR team principal, Gabe Newell. “When we first got to know Emirates Team New Zealand, I was struck by the sophistication of their technology. Despite describing 2020 as “weird”, young Southland racing driver Jordan Michels has found plenty of positives from a year that included winning his third New Zealand title in two years.
Michels was looking forward to contesting the inaugural TCR New Zealand Championship this year only for it to be cancelled.
Another opportunity soon presented itself when he had a call from Australia offering him a drive among a star-studded field in an S5000 car on the support card of the Australian Grand Prix meeting at Albert Park in Melbourne. ....
