(WFIE) -University of Southern Indiana Men’s Soccer announced the signing of freshman midfielders  Garland Hall and  Wesley Rhodes to letters of intent for the 2021 season. Hall and Rhodes are the first to sign with USI and Head Coach  “Garland and Wesley are both versatile midfielders and great people,” said Santoro. “They will add a lot to our program and we’re looking forward to working with them.”  Hall comes to USI after helping lead Reitz Memorial High School (Evansville, Indiana) to three IHSAA 2A state championships over the last four years (2017, 2019, 2020). The first-team All-State performer (2020) and four-time Academic All-State honoree at Memorial had 34 points as a senior on 12 goals and 10 assists. During his four seasons, Hall had 83 points on 30 goals and 23 assists.

(WFIE) - Junior distance runner Jennifer Comastri (Indianapolis, Indiana) won a conference title and picked up two All-League honors to lead University of Southern Indiana Women’s Track & Field to a fourth-place finish at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships Saturday. Comastri began the day with a second-place finish in the finals of the 1,500 meters, earning second-team All-Conference honors in the process. She finished the day with a first-place showing in the 5,000 meters, earning first-team All-GLVC honors and capturing her first-career GLVC Outdoor title with a time of 17 minutes, 20.07 seconds.

(WFIE) - University of Southern Indiana Men’s Track & Field had eight top-five outings including four Screaming Eagles recording NCAA II provisional qualifying marks in the 10,000 meters alone at the Jim Vargo Invitational April 9-10. Freshman Titus Winders went out quick and maintained his pace on the way to a fifth-place finish of 29 minutes, 51.93 seconds in the 10,000m. Winders’ 10,000m time was good enough for an NCAA II provisional qualifier, puts him 19th in the nation and eighth all-time in the USI record book.

(WFIE) - University of Southern Indiana Men’s Soccer picked up its first victory of the year with a 1-0 win over the University of Illinois Springfield Sunday afternoon in Springfield, Illinois. The Screaming Eagles has a 1-2-0 record at the end of today’s action, while Illinois Springfield goes to 1-1-2. With the win, USI Head Coach Mat Santoro becomes the program’s all-time leader in victories with 98. Santoro (98-83-21) breaks the tie with former USI Head Coach Tony Colavecchia (1988-95; 97-59-11).
