Date Time Screen Australia announces new Board appointment 21 July The Morrison Government has appointed Ms Helen Leake AM as a member of the Screen Australia Board for a term of three years commencing 27 June 2021. Ms Leake has a long and varied career involving many aspects of the Screen Sector. As founder and owner of Dancing Road Productions and Duo Arts Productions, her feature credits include Heaven’s Burning starring Russell Crowe, Black and White starring Robert Carlyle, Swerve starring Jason Clarke and Wolf Creek 2. Ms Leake was CEO of the South Australian Film Corporation from 2004 to 2007. She also served on the Board of AusFilm and was Chair of the Board of the Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC) amongst other Board and mentoring activities.

Do not attempt at home… New factual series Aussie Snake Wranglers, coming to National Geographic, follows the busiest snake catching team in Australia as they tackle some of the deadliest snakes on the planet. A bumper 16 part series, produced by Breakout Productions in partnership with the South Australian Film Corporation, will screen from mid-September. The series is located in the beautiful surrounds of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, and follows snake guru Stuart McKenzie and his snake catching team, as they work in one of the most active snake regions on the planet. Each episode sees the team responding to distress calls from everyday Australians who find themselves face to face with these incredible, but often deadly, reptiles.
