Early Wednesday morning, a traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of East 5th Street and South Summit Avenue. The driver of the vehicle was found to have an active/confirmed warrant for a probation/parole violation on original charges of Assault in the 2nd Degree. Jeremy M. Lawson, 36, of Warsaw, was arrested on the warrant and transported to the Pettis County Jail with no bond.
 
Monday night, Officers responded near the area of South Arlington and East 14th Street for a possible hit and run report. Officers made contact with the victim, who said her parked car had been struck by another vehicle and that vehicle had fled the scene. No one was inside the victim s vehicle at the time. The victim wished to pursue charges. ....

Biden pitches $2.3T infrastructure plan as cure for Texas grid failure, but it's not in the fine print


WASHINGTON – The White House cites Texas’ deadly power outages as a key selling point for a $2.3 trillion infrastructure package, leaving a clear – but potentially misleading – implication that Texas would get the billions needed to avert such catastrophes in the future.
“We saw what happened in Texas, and that’s an example of a resiliency problem,” Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said Monday.
But the plan doesn’t specify any funds for the Texas grid.
And even if Texas gets all the funds envisioned for grid upgrades nationwide, that might not be enough to weatherize all of the generating plants and natural gas lines that failed when an arctic blast smothered the state in mid-February. ....

Gunmen Open Fire on Same Arlington House Four Times

Police are searching for the gunmen who have opened fire on the same South Arlington house at least four times in the last few weeks.
