Alberta Health Services (AHS) has expanded their walk-in appointments to obtain a COVID-19 shot at the Montrose Cultural Centre 9839-103 Ave, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week.

Anyone 18 and over is now eligible to receive either their first or second shot of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine on a drop-in basis at the Rapid Flow-Through Immunization Clinic in Teresa Sargent Hall.
Any adults who received their first dose of Astra-Zeneca’s vaccine can also walk in and obtain either a second dose of the A-Z vaccine or an m-RNA version. First doses of Astra-Zeneca are not available.

It appears many local residents want their COVID-19 vaccines as soon as possible.
With the provincial government opening AstraZeneca vaccines to people 40 years of age and over, phone bookings are getting snapped up quickly.

Connie Schamber, pharmacy manager, Mint Health and Drugs Sterling, said the pharmacy received 100 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine last week.
“By Friday last week, we’d only used about 40 doses, but by (Tuesday) morning, the rest of my 60 doses are already booked,” Schamber said. “Even by Sunday night, when that Tweet went out, people started booking online, and by (Monday) evening, the rest of our doses were all fully booked.
