Pakistani embassy in Djibouti soon: Sanjrani

ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, who is on a four-day visit to Djibouti along with a three-member delegation, met with government functionaries and Pakistani diaspora living there.
Meeting the Minister for Health Djibouti Kassim Issack Osman, Senate chairman extended an invitation to him to visit Pakistan. He said Pakistan will soon open its embassy in Djibouti and as a gesture of goodwill between the two countries will ensure free of cost medical education to its students.
He said a special quota may be determined for this purpose. Emphasising the need for increased government to government contact and parliamentary ties, Sanjrani also stressed the need for trade and investment in industry in Djibouti. ....

Russia to postpone ban on U.S. embassy hiring foreign staff, says U.S

MOSCOW (Reuters) - The Russian government intends to postpone the enforcement of a ban on the U.S. embassy hiring foreign staff, the U.S. Embassy in Moscow said on Friday, adding that it would temporarily resume routine services for U.S. citizens.
The embassy had said last month it was cutting consular staff by 75% and that from May 12 it would stop processing non-immigrant visas for non-diplomatic travel, after the Kremlin accused Washington of fuelling tension with “unfriendly actions”. ....

Embassy in Kabul warns of increase in violence as US troops continue to withdraw


KABUL: The US embassy in Kabul on Saturday warned American citizens to be vigilant at places where people generally congregate noting the fact that violence has increased in Afghanistan following the Eid holiday.
Notably, the situation in the country is tense since US President Joe Biden announced that American troops will pull out from the country by September 11. This has made the Taliban intensify attacks on provincial capitals, districts, bases, and checkpoints since the international troops began to withdraw.
The Department had also advised US citizens not to travel to Afghanistan due to crime, terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping, armed conflict and the coronavirus, adding that American nationals already in the country should consider departing. ....
