NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard has confirmed Friday s COVID-19 case numbers will be higher than the new daily record of 124 infections from yesterday.
Brad Hazzard appeared on KIIS1065 s The Kyle and Jackie O Show to discuss a pro-vaccination rap video created by host Kyle Sandilands where he was quizzed on infection numbers.
The Premier said yesterday likely they will get more, well there will be more, I will say that categorically, he said. ....

Gladys Berejiklian may impose further lockdown restrictions in south-west Sydney as cases grow
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian is considering tightening restrictions in local government areas of concern and relaxing parts of Sydney where there have been less cases as she looks to slowly emerge from lockdown.

South-west Sydney could be facing tougher restrictions as cases remain high in the region, while other parts of the city will see a relaxation of the health orders.
Health officials will monitor infection numbers over the coming days and into early next week to determine if the harsh restrictions put in place last week - including a ban on construction - has had any effect. ....

Covid-19 Australia: New South Wales records 136 new cases


The New South Wales Covid-19 outbreak is now considered to be a national emergency after the state recorded its highest daily spike with 136 new cases. 
The figure prompted Gladys Berejiklian to not only announce an extension of work travel restrictions to parts of Sydney but admit that lockdown would likely not end on July 30. 
Instead, Sydneysiders could be forced to live with restrictions for as long as October.
There is no doubt that the numbers are not going in the direction we were hoping they would at this stage, she said. 
It is fairly apparent that we will not be close to [ending lockdown] next Friday.   ....

Gladys Berejiklian warns the impact of NSW's lockdown won't be seen for several days

Authorities have warned Greater Sydney residents may have to wait until next week before COVID-19 cases begin to ease.
New South Wales has recorded 110 new local coronavirus cases out of a record number of 83,477 tests, as Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the state won t see the impact of harsher restrictions for several days. 
Of the new cases in the 24 hours to 8pm on Tuesday, 43 people were infectious in the community and 17 were in isolation for part of their infectious period, while the isolation status of 13 remains under investigation. 
Ms Berejiklian said the new infections are a high number but a number which reflects the high amount of testing we had .  ....
