Taapsee Pannu put out a Tweet this afternoon, condoling the death of veteran sharpshooter Chandro Tomar, fondly known as one half of the Shooter Dadi duo. The 89-year-old passed away in a hospital in Meerut following COVID-19 related complications. She hospitalised after she complained of difficulty in breathing a few days ago. In 2019, Chandro and Prakashi Tomar were seen promoting their biopic, Saand Ki Aankh, starring Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu, directed by Tushar Hiranandani. Taapsee played Prakashi while Bhumi played Chandro Dadi. Today, both Bhumi and Taapsee took to their social media handles to express their grief and condole the family over their loss.

Chandro Tomar, popularly known as ‘Shotter Dadi’ who hailed from Uttar Pradesh and was the world’s oldest female sharp shooter died at 89 today. Bhumi Pednekar who played the national level sharp shooter on the big screen in Tushar Hiranandani’s Saand Ki Aankh, condoled her death and called it a ‘very big personal loss.’
“It is completely devastating to know that Chandro Dadi is not with us anymore. It really feels like a very big personal loss. She was someone who lived a very full filling life. She made her own rules, paved her own path and she had a beautiful sisterhood and a beautiful partnership with Prakashi dadi and together they left an impact on so many lives,” Bhumi said mourning the loss of Chandro Tomar.

Saand Ki Aankh fame shooter dadi, Chandro Tomar, succumbed to Covid-19 and died on Friday, 30 April. She was 89. The octogenarian shooter was admitted to a hospital in Meerut, earlier in the week after she complained about feeling breathless.
Her demise is being mourned by many celebrities on social media including Bhumi Pednekar who played her in the 2019 film helmed by Tushar Hiranandani. In a condolence tweet the actress wrote, “Devastated by the news of Chandro Dadi’s demise. Feels like a part of me is gone. She made her own rules & paved the path for many girl to find their dream. Her legacy will live on in them. Condolences to the family. Am lucky I got to know and be her #ChandroTomar#ShooterDadi”
