Earlier this afternoon, 94-year-old Furman Summers (white male) was reported missing by an out-of-town family member who had been notified that Mr. Summers had not been seen since Friday afternoon and suffered from Dementia, the department said.
Officers responded to his residence on Erie Street where additional family and friends had gathered. Officers set up a perimeter, enabled the Unmanned Aerial Unit (DRONE), and began searching for Mr. Summers. A Silver Alert was also initiated.
A short time later, Mr. Summers was located, deceased, not far from his home. The preliminary investigation does not indicate foul play at this time and a cause of death is pending an autopsy. Any additional updates will be released at a later date. ....
