Walker Strong Initiative benefit planned in honor of fallen Trooper Walker

The push to get bullet-resistant windshields for law enforcement was sparked by the death of Trooper Chad Walker. The non-profit MAG, Inc. that started the movement is now holding a fundraiser June 25th through the 27th that has the potential to save law enforcement lives.
Small town roots run deep in Groesbeck, Texas and so does the wound from Trooper Walker s death. When this happened it definitely rocked our community, said MAG, Inc Organizer Bryce Worsham.
Trooper Walker received a hero s service after being ambushed by a gunman. The bullets that killed him pierced the patrol car windshield first.
Texas DPS Honors Fallen Officers at Memorial Service
AUSTIN, TX – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) remembered and paid tribute to Texas Highway Patrol Troopers, Texas Rangers and Special Agents who lost their lives in the line of duty at today’s 2021 Peace Officers Memorial Service.
Those honored included Trooper Moises Sanchez, who died in August 2019, and Trooper Chad Walker, who was killed in March 2021. The service was held at DPS Headquarters in Austin, with Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick as the guest speaker.
“Today, I am deeply humbled to speak at the 2021 Peace Officers Memorial Service,” said Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick. “Since I have been Lt. Governor, I have attended far too many funerals for our fallen officers. I stand with Texas DPS and our brave peace officers, and will continue to work diligently to better protect our Troopers as they put their lives on the line, every single day, for Texas communities.”

BRYAN, TX â The city of Bryan could not have imagined the heartache they would endure on August 13, 2012.
On that day, Brazos County Constable Brian Bachman was shot and killed in the line of duty. His death inspired his fellow officers to keep his legacy alive through what is now known as the Brazos County First Responders Association.
âWe noticed that the checks donât come in very fast from insurance companies and so forth, so we thought maybe we can get money to them a little quicker by starting this organization,â explained Constable Jeff Reeves, Brazos County Precinct 1 Constable.

It is a very sad day for Texans throughout the state as the funeral for Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper, Chad Walker, began this morning in Groesbeck, TX.
Law enforcement, as well as city and state officials from all over Texas, have made their way to Groesbeck to pay their respects to a fallen hero who was killed while on duty in Texas almost two weeks ago on March 26th.
Walker, 38, was shot multiple times after he pulled over to assist what appeared to be a stranded motorist in Mexia, Texas. He hadn t even exited his vehicle before multiple shots were fired into his car. The gunman, DeArthur Pinson, 36, opened fire on Walker, shooting him in the head and in the abdomen before fleeing on foot.
