Montenegro is building its first-ever motorway. Due to a huge loan scandal, it’s now become the country’s highway to hell. 40 bridges and 90 tunnels are expected to be built and financed by the Chinese. However, the project has been hit by corruption allegations, construction delays and environmental tragedies. Today, out of the planned 170 kilometers, just 40 have been completed.
The motorway is one of the most expensive in the world. It’s financed by a loan from China loan. Paying back this money is creating problems. The story starts with Montenegro’s former Prime Minister and current President, Milo Dukanović. He conceived the motorway to boost trade in the small Balkan country. ....

Cyprus conflict has been regarded as one of the conflicts that are so far difficult to find a resolution for it. The conflict has been considered intractable, due to its complexity multiple endeavors failed to bring on a solution. Last week, an informal meeting began in Geneva linked to the Cyprus peace talks. It was an initiative by UN Secretary-General António Guterres as he seeks common ground for the resumption of talks to find a lasting solution to the decades-old dispute.
After the failure of the 2017 Cyprus peace talks, it is clear that the UN s purpose with this meeting was to determine whether common ground exists for the parties to negotiate a lasting solution to the Cyprus problem within a foreseeable time framework. U.N. meetings on Cyprus fail to establish common ground for negotiations

United Nations-hosted meetings on Cyprus ended in Geneva on Thursday, failing to find common ground between the two sides of the divided island to open formal negotiations.
The U.N. will make a fresh attempt at talks in “probably two or three months”, Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said in televised comments broadcast by Turkey s state-run Anadolu news agency.
The leaders of Greek and Turkish Cyprus resumed U.N. negotiations this week after a break of almost four years. The foreign ministers of Greece, Turkey and the United Kingdom, who are guarantor powers for the island’s security, also attended the informal meetings. ....
