Sony kicked off the week by unveiling an all new trailer for
Venom: Let There Be Carnage on Monday (August 2) which finds Tom Hardy back in action as a journalist named Eddie Brock, who is taken over by an alien symbiote known as Venom.
Eddie and Venom still might not see eye to eye on most things, but it’s clear from the trailer that they’ll have to figure out how to work together and quick because they’ll have way bigger fish to fry in the sequel.

Hoping to work comic book freaks into a frenzy, Venom: Let There Be Carnage director Andy Serkis has teased the arrival of other villains from the world of
Spider-Man. While discussing the movie s first trailer, which was released a few weeks ago, Serkis makes mention of Ravencroft Institute, a large sanatorium in Westchester County, New York which houses several of the web-slinger s criminal insane foes, with Serkis revealing that this will allow for seeds to be sown in the upcoming sequel.
Many a Cletus Kasday fan likely breathed a sigh of relief this week when Sony unleashed the first trailer for
Venom: Let There Be Carnage and we got confirmation that Woody Harrelson’s deranged serial killer-turned-symbiote host has dropped the curly wig we saw him sporting in the post-credit scene of 2018’s
Venom.
Speaking to IGN, director Andy Serkis has revealed why they decided to shake up Cletus’ look for Let There Be Carnage, and it’s got absolutely nothing to do with how ridiculous it looked, honest.
“We wanted to give a sense that he’s been in there for some time and that he’s gone through various changes, so that we could really [see] what’s going on with the darkness of the character,” said Serkis, who then went on to discuss the design of Kasady’s alter-ego Carnage.
