Many a Cletus Kasday fan likely breathed a sigh of relief this week when Sony unleashed the first trailer for
Venom: Let There Be Carnage and we got confirmation that Woody Harrelson’s deranged serial killer-turned-symbiote host has dropped the curly wig we saw him sporting in the post-credit scene of 2018’s
Venom.
Speaking to IGN, director Andy Serkis has revealed why they decided to shake up Cletus’ look for Let There Be Carnage, and it’s got absolutely nothing to do with how ridiculous it looked, honest.
“We wanted to give a sense that he’s been in there for some time and that he’s gone through various changes, so that we could really [see] what’s going on with the darkness of the character,” said Serkis, who then went on to discuss the design of Kasady’s alter-ego Carnage.
