Covid Sydney: Delta outbreak the 'worst NSW has had' since pandemic began in 2020

Sydney is suffering through its biggest Covid outbreak of the entire pandemic with more cases in a month than the entire first wave.
The outbreak which began on June 16 has infected 1,242 people so far, including 105 on Sunday, compared to 1,233 in the first wave from February to May 2020.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has repeatedly warned the Delta variant of the virus posed the greatest threat the state has faced thus far.

National Weather Forecast: Warnings to drivers as Sydney and Brisbane blanketed in thick fog

Forecasters are predicting some fresh snow by Saturday morning, continuing through Saturday.
Snow may fall up high today during daylight hours, but there will likely be rain at elevations below about 1600 or 1700 metres.
While the snow would normally be good news for holidaymakers hoping to enjoy the state s ski resorts, a strict stay at home order remains in place for Greater Sydney due to COVID-19 with people elsewhere being urged to avoid any unnecessary travel plans.

How the Bondi cluster compares to the Northern Beaches

Fears are growing that a two-week lockdown of Sydney will not be enough to contain the latest coronavirus outbreak plaguing the city.
Epidemiologists say the outbreak, which began with international flight crew who passed the virus to a Sydney limousine driver, is far more concerning than the Northern Beaches cluster which required a three-week lockdown from December 19 to January 9.
This is because it involves the more contagious Indian Delta variant of the disease and has affected about 260 venues across Sydney - rather than being largely contained in a peninsula over the Spit Bridge which could easily be closed off due to its separation from the rest of the city. ....
