Around 40 households hoping to send children to St Mary s CBS in September 2021, could face disappointment as the school confirmed to this newspaper it is at maximum capacity and is oversubscribed for the next school year. Principal John Ryan said that, of the excess applicants, at least 20 are from the immediate Enniscorthy area while a further 20 are from outside of the school s regular catchment zone. Such is the concern over the capacity issues in the school that all options are being considered at the moment including the possibility of lobbying for a completely new school complex. Mr Ryan said that numbers have been increasing from feeder primary schools and that projected growth figures from those schools going forward means the number of applicants to the CBS will remain well in excess of the school s capacity for the next eight to 10 years at least. ....
