May 4, 2021 A proclamation, issued by Town of Pomfret on April 14 resolves that the week of May 2 through May 8 is designated as ” Professional Municipal Clerks Week.” Unanimously adopted by town of Pomfret the Proclamation extends appreciation to all Municipal and Deputy Clerks for the services with which they provide their communities. Specifically, the Proclamation cites that the Clerk “serves as the professional link between the citizens, the local governing bodies and agencies of government at other levels.” The Proclamation was presented to Allison Vento signed by Supervisor Daniel Pacos. It also honors Municipal and Deputy Clerks for “continually striving to improve the administration of their duties through participation in education programs, seminars, workshops and annual meetings of their state, province, county and international professional organizations.” ....
Omtatah sues against reappointment of National Assembly clerk Tuesday May 04 2021 By JOSEPH WANGUI Summary Rights activist Okiya Omtatah has moved to court to challenge the decision of the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) to reappoint National Assembly clerk Micheal Sialai instead of retiring him. In the case filed at the Employment and Labour Relations Court in Nairobi and certified urgent, the activist says Mr Sialai’s reappointment on a contractual basis is illegal. Local title office remains open during pandemic Mumford SIDNEY 2020 was a very busy year for the Title Office. Due to COVID-19 the Shelby County Title Office was one of only a few title offices in Ohio that remained open to the public throughout the pandemic as essential workers. “To help stop the spread of COVID-19 our office implemented several precautionary measures. The deputy clerks began right away, disinfecting all surfaces and sanitizing all pens that are used by our customers. We also limited the number of customers in the office to 3 at a time and asked that all customers waiting in line social distance. It was also recommended that everyone wear a mask when entering the title office, including our Deputy Clerks. We also provided hand sanitizer at every station in the office,” said Shelby County Clerk of Courts Michele Mumford. ....

Recall that the bill was passed on March 26, 2020, to avail Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu the legislative concurrence to expend money required to effectively contain the virus and enforce compliance by residents.
