This week, the CDC and FDA approved COVID-19 vaccines for children ages 12 to 15.
Though health officials’ goal is to have everyone vaccinated against the coronavirus, many parents have been reluctant to have their children get the vaccine. Here’s a look at how many Cleveland County residents, young and old, have rolled up their sleeves thus far:
Number of residents vaccinated
To date, 32.8% of Cleveland County residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 29.5% of Cleveland County residents are fully vaccinated.
That puts the county behind the state which has 40.2% of North Carolina residents having received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 35.3% of North Carolina residents being fully vaccinated.
Rock Hill NAACP
Moments after the verdict was read live on TV, people in Rock Hill gathered for a moment of prayer, reflection and meditation for the Floyd family.
Norma Gray, president of the Rock Hill NAACP, was at the gathering and said the jury s decision would not hold any weight if the country does not build on the momentum. However, she said she hopes it is a step toward trust. It s significant because at some point you have to be able to trust that there can be equality, Gray said. And sometimes that s a difficult message to convey when all you see is inequality.
