Delhi's Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Receives Five MT Oxygen, The Highest One-Time Refill In Three Days

Sir Ganga Ram Hospital received five metric tonnes of medical oxygen in the early hours of Sunday, after an all-night scramble for an oxygen refill.
The hospital had raised an alarm at 10:30 pm on Saturday, saying its oxygen stock would last only an hour. There were 130 patients in the ICU, including 30 on invasive ventilation, when the SOS was sent.
Around 12:20 am it received a tanker, with the help of local AAP MLA Raghav Chadha, which supplied one metric tonne of oxygen.
It should last two hours, a hospital spokesperson said around 12:45 pm.
According to him, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital s primary supplier in Faridabad was supposed to send a tanker before 3 am. ....

Oxygen crisis: Hospitals in Delhi use back up stock as situation worsens

Amid deepening crisis over the scarcity of oxygen, several hospitals in the national capital have been left with no option but to use their back up stock, with some like Saroj Super Speciality Hospital advising relatives to shift their patients to another facility.
While Fortis Hospital (Shalimar Bagh), presently running on its back up oxygen supply, urged the prime minister, Delhi chief minister and other ministers for immediate assistance , Saroj Super Speciality, having not received oxygen refill for the past 44 hours, is now advising its patients to shift to other hospitals.
We are running low on oxygen and using our back up now. We have alerted our patients about the situation, and are advising them to shift to another hospital. Things are really uncertain, P K Bhardwaj, medical director, Saroj Super Speciality Hospital, told PTI. ....

Delhi's Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital Reduces COVID-19 Beds Amid Oxygen Crisis

New Delhi:
The Delhi government-run Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital on Saturday reduced the number of COVID beds from 986 to 700 amid a deepening crisis over the scarcity of oxygen vital to save critically ill coronavirus patients.
This is the second government hospital in Delhi to have reduced the number of COVID beds, as health facilities across the national capital struggle for a continuous oxygen supply.
According to data available on the Delhi government s Delhi Corona application, there are 700 COVID beds in the hospital located at Shahdara. Of these, 400 are ICU beds.
On Friday, the city government-run Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital had reduced the number of COVID beds from 650 to 350 due to shortage of oxygen. ....
